While there are plenty of big-name entertainers like Ariana Grande, Ellen Degeneres, and Ed Sheeran who earn millions, ranked on Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid celebrities, the reality is those making the big bucks by performing are few and far between. Even for some of the most talented, it can be a major challenge just to make a living. But making sure they have a roof over their head isn’t the only reason you should support them – there are many benefits to you individually and to your local community.

How much did you pay the last time you went to a concert to see your favourite band? Some artists are charging hundreds of dollars just for one ticket. But your local entertainment is usually very budget-friendly, sometimes even free, and you’ll still have a great time. Even when there is a charge, the money you spend is going to support the local community.
It Builds Stronger Communities
When you support your local entertainers, you’re supporting your local community, including businesses within the community, like bars, clubs, pubs, cafes and other venues. You may also be supporting photographers, screen printers, and many others involved. There may be no better way to support lots of locals all at the same time. Local entertainment can also help energize a local movement and raise money for a good cause.

A performance with local entertainers is almost always more personal. The musicians, singers, comedians or other artists might even shake your hand and get to know you one-on-one. That’s very unlikely to happen if it’s Ed Sheeran or Taylor Swift. On stage, local entertainers often share their stories with more local flavour, making the show even more enjoyable to all. There’s a level of intimacy that you just can’t find at huge events attended by tens of thousands of fans. And, you can probably get very close to the stage too.
